What do you mean "hope VIR will approve"?
If you bought an Autoform, you're good. If you bought anything else, ?.
Autoform is the only "approved" roll bar I have heard of for the Viper. Kind of a small market for too many players.

You don't actually have to have a rollbar for the PD stuff but I put one in my 2003 for safety sake. PM me when you get it in and I'll give you some shortcuts on the install. I think I still have the Word document I created with pictures. Good time to put sound deadening/insulation in if you don't have it. Just get plenty of beer and a friend!

Thanks JoelW.....I got viper tech extradonaire and hillbilly banjo player Tom Sessions installing it at his shop here in Deliverance country of NC.Trying to decide on paint/powder coat color right now.Wife and I agree the safety issue for cruising around was important as well.Wonder why dodge didnt put in a functioning rollbar and just charge a little more.

Definitely PC it, not paint.
I did mine in silver to match the car (and all of my interior pieces that are silver), and it looks like it should have looked from the factory.
I've seen a Venom Red with a color-matched bar and looked great! Not sure how bright red would look.
Do you have any stripes on the car?

Is that a different document than the one I sent you to help you install yours? I know it needed more improvement. Keep passing it on as that rollbar is a ***** to install IMO... Good luck... Hope the holes on the bulkhead match up because mine didn't. Yes, I agree about the sound deadening as it really helps with the road noise and heat without taking away from the exhaust note. :2tu:

Yes, I made a bunch of additions to the orginal file. I sent it to Steve but I doubt they used it. I know if I had had it before I started it would have saved me at least 2 hours and I talked to Steve too. First time is a ***** but so was the cruise control. Too bad I didn't have a second Viper to install that stuff on...

Pirate:

Not sure the match of the Powder Coating to your Viper Red Vert. I know you can get a perfect match with paint. My wife is the one with the Venom Red vert. Hers is the older design with the crossbar above the back of the car and she has to be careful with the roof latch hook. The newer Autoform rollbar design has that crossbar hidden so it shouldn't be a problem.

I wanted to clarify my post. Steve at Autoform was very helpful when I did my install. I created a file that added information and pictures to the original file that comes with the rollbar. Construction of Autoform products is first rate - I have a top and rollbar. For those of us not ultimate fabricators or who have not done an install, I will be glad to send the file. I am sending a copy to Steve - I thought I had done so. I will be glad to assist or send the file to anyone who needs it so please PM me with an email address. Thanks to Steve and Paul (George the Dog) who helped me as I did mine in my 2003.

You are so welcome my friend Joel. Great to see you making improvements to the instructions and helping others as it was no easy task at least on my car. Steve was a great guy with me too. If I ever get another Viper vert I will just pay to have that thing installed by Steve's crew. Getting too old to mess with things like that anymore. Joel, are you going to VOI? I haven't decided yet.
