RT/10 GPS mount?

Does anyone have any clever ideas for mounting a phone or gps to a Gen 1 viper? I feel like I have a few half-baked ideas, but none I'm totally satisfied with.

Pictures are great.
Product makes and models are appreciated.

Perhaps this has stumped others as well! I came up with one idea here:

I use this. It will clamp tight on to the vent, and will rest on the vent bottom. It shouldn't rub and damage anything. If you get the angle right, it's a solid vent mount for the phone.

Interesting... There's so many of these out there that it's hard to judge what actually works. Thanks for the tip. I ordered one and will give it a try.
