Is the Gen1 the same as a Gen2....

Should be...glass is physically the same, just that the Gen.2 has the locks. Best of luck finding it though. Please let me know if you do manage locate any seals. To my knowledge, they are only available from Dodge with glass purchase.

The seal is available from Dodge at $700 and it includes a free back glass. 
I have searched for months to find a supplier of weather seal gaskets and no one is close to the seal on my '96.
As I understand it a company like AutoGlass can replace your back window. That means they have a solution for that seal.
Be nice to replace that rubber.
