Text Hey, Road - -What year is your Roadster?
My '98 RT soft top does not leak - ( but I only drive in the rain unintentionally, and NEVER above 80MPH). But then, its got power roll-up Glass windows. My '96 RT soft-top didn't drip inside, either, and it only had the sliding Lexan side windows (which opened horizontally, 50% at best!) So, what gives, do you have a pre-'96RT, soft-top latch problem, hole in the material, or ? As our VIPER Guru Jon B. says, "The Year Matters."

Based on a suggestion from my Camaro's owners manual I use dielectric grease on the rubber where it meets the body on both my Viper and SS convertable with excellent results. Cloud bursts are no problem but 4hrs. of steady rain may bring a few drops in. Make sure your front latches are adjusted tight. Woudn't hurt to go over your door seals either.

Dielectric grease (or Vaseline in a pinch) on the weatherstrip works well. I really don't bother most of the time, and just deal with it. Mine leaks very little in the important places...

thnx all for the input, so its either grease it, add stripping (concerns there about cosmetic appearance) or just dont drive in rain (which is unavoidable) and always carry a bath towel.

rdustman,
please let me know how your trip goes with the softop.

if i can make voi7 i am considering going down with the softop
instead of the hardtop incase the weather is good.

let me know if it was worth it or not.

thanks

I don't get any leaks thru the top or windows with
the factory soft top, BUT, I do get water in thru the
generous door to fender gap. As soon as I turn on the
wipers the water seems to pour in from the top of the
door above the speakers. I can't see any worn seals of
any type, it's just clearance between the body parts.
Am I missing something ?

C'mon guys, goto Home Depot get some $2 weather strip. Get the closed cell black. Put it under the front edge of soft top it will compress when you latch the top. Then put it on the door above the speakers. Make a channel that sends the water down to the sills. Hose test it. NO BIG DEAL>>>>
I did this every six months in Orlando summer down pours.
