Friends, I just got off the phone with a wonderful lady named Mary Petitpren. Her husband George worked for Chrysler, and they have a few of the "DaimlerChrysler Friends Program" vouchers that they would like to give to a VCA family member. This gesture is not all that surprising since most VCA'ers have always helped in times of need. What is amazing is how this person put aside personal grief to make such a wonderful gesture.

Mary just informed me that her husband has been diagnosed with a non curable cancer. She told me this as she was asking me if I would help her to make this offer to the VCA. She asked that we remember George in our prayers. She needs my help because she just does not have the time to even put posts or reply's on the site

So here is the deal. Mary has two of these vouchers available for any VCA member that would like to take advantage of the plan. All you need to do is e-mail her with your information, name, address, phone and she will get you the form filled out and ready to go, WOW! Obviously there are only two, so please practice some understanding if she responds that they are gone.FYI, these do not apply to Vipers or Prowlers.

Now I ask a favor of all the VCA. Even if you are not interested in the voucher, would you take a few moments and send George some words of encouragement. Mary has show us her love and consideration towards the VCA, I would be honored if we could show these sweet people how truly grateful we are to have them as members!

Send all correspondence to Mary and George Petitpren, e-mail- [email protected]

Thank you all that choose to help.

Mary was actively posting on the board a while back, and the few emails we exchanged impressed upon me what wonderful people these two are. My prayers are with you both.

Jay, Tony or Chris, Could any of you help her get registered and set up on the board? Mary said that she had very limited time, but enjoyed being on the board. She needs our help in getting access, can we help?

This is to anyone dealing with the effects cancer can have on their loved ones.

One and a half years ago my uncle who was 36 was diagnosed with cancer. He could have done many things, he could have not fought it and let it win. But what did he do??/ He stared it down and took it on. For over a year he fought through many very painful spinal taps, had his blood treated with harsh chemicals. He was hospitalized for 5 months straight, being in quarentine, not really being able to see any family. He finally got out. Not one hair on his body. He had to live, day in day out with a tube sticking out of his chest so that he could go in quickly for treatment if needed. He had inflamed limbs from all the saline solution they ran through him. a man that once weighd close to 300 LBS was reduced to just over 200 in a very short period of time. He was once again quickly hospitalized all of the sudden. In the matter of a week he was really close to dying but refused to give up. He fought back and is now living hapily at home on his own, with his Viper, 2001 harley and supercharged/nitros 69 440 Plymouth GTX. He's an inspiration to anyone with cancer. He has all his hair back and has been trouble free for some time now. The doctors are amazed at his progress.
Unfortunately not everyone is able to overcome it, and they are no less weak and should be commended for the effort they give to just continue living with the pain of it.

Not to undermine any other charities or anything but we should all give what we can to fight this disease, we're so close to beating it. I've done my part by buying a ticket for a huge hospital lottery that is Ontario's Cancer Hospital where my uncle was treated. Plus the prize I want second to having cancer beaten is the sweet 2002 RT/10 that Ontario Chrysler donated. A great investment for $100.
