Screws for BBS rims

I want to change the screws in my BBS 3 piece wheel. Does anyone know where you can get them at?? And how much?

Try going through someone who deals with BBS wheels. they are normaly cheaper for if you are buying retail. Check Parts Rack and Tire Rack.

Take one down to the local hardware store. I was amazed at the selection at my local hardware store. They had socket-head, button-head, etc. STAINLESS screws and bolts in about every size. You might even find something that would look better than original. Just a thought...

That is a good idea, I took them out tonight and I dont see how they can be as much as BBS is asking for them. I have like 40 screws in each wheel and they wanted like 5 bucks a screw. I think I will goto a hardware store this weeekend

I would caution against using a common bolt on the rimms. I would use AN grade bolts. The cheaper SAE graded bolts do not have very good quality control.

Buy the OEM bolts! As cgmaster stated above, hardware store bolts are junk, additionally those bolts which are functional, correct? (three piece rim) will effect the trueness of the rim if you pull them apart and don't torque them correctly. $80 a rim is cheap, for a $1,000 wheel. Real graded bolts are always traceable, hardware store bolts are A) Junk B) Expensive for the overseas inferior quality C) Will not care when your remains are scattered all over the road, because you were pretending to be an engineer.

Wow! I find it very hard to believe that with 40 screws......again, that's 40 SCREWS, you would have problems with hardware store screws. It would take thousands of horsepower to think you'll bend or shear any of them. If they're all torqued down to spec and checked once in awhile, I don't think you'd have any problems. I understand your stance on quality control and all, but with 40 screws in EACH wheel, do you really think they're gonna give out?

Maybe I'm the only frugal one here. I try to avoid the 'Viper Tax' whenever possible but thank you guys for pointing out when we must NOT take the cheap route.

I agree whole heartedly with you on the Viper tax issue. My concern is for safety, particularly when your talking about a wheel coming apart. Though most poeple think that the street is a mild playground compared to the track, your wheels take an incredible amount of punishment from street driving. Thousands of miles on the road take their toll on a light weight wheel. Problem is that most people aren't going to check those bolts down the road. Years ago one of the manufacturers that supplies bolts to hardware stores was sued because they were stamping graded marks, grade eight markings on grade three bolts. In the retail world there is very little accountability with the quality of fasteners. Take a look at www.arp-bolts.com , they make top quality American made fasteners.

it's what holds your wheel together right?

Why are you replacing them? They really shouldn't "go bad"? Haveyou torqued them? Is something leaking? Have you repalced the gasket that goes between the center and the inner (?) half?

You don't see them on the outside of a BBS 3 piece - the heads are inside the inner rim half....
