I had FinalGTS throw it on for me on Wednesday.
And I just love it. Call me childish but I love that it stays on
even though the car is off. Very cool

And the added benefit of cooling a hot engine is nice too

Great cheap mod.

Its a great upgrade, dont have to worry about air pockets in the cooling system anymore.

FYI: If you put a drop of oil on the sensor, the fan will kick in sooner and run longer for better cooling or do it every oil change.

No disrespect to SLITHRN, but can anyone else confirm this?

No disrespect taken, When the fan kit went on at Sean Roe's shop it was not kicking in right away when the car was really hot. Sean put a drop of oil on it and it now starts running as soon as the engine shuts off. The oil helps conduct better, I would guess.

Just call Sean Roe himself 1-866-ASK-SEAN (275-7326) and ask him. Thats were I got the tip. It was Jay's car 97 GTS.

SLITHRN,
No need for the oil drop; it seems to be kicking right on and staying on for a while around 5-8 mins i would guess.
i like that there is a timer so as not to run too
long and kill the battery.
but thanks for the tip.

Sean Roe's fan kit was one of my "neccessary" mods done by Woodhouse before I picked my Viper up.

*SLITHRN - Where is the sensor located?

Huh????

Since the water pump is not running, just the radiator water cools off. Since the electric fan is running, it purges under-hood hot air somewhat, cooling off headers, etc. Less total heat soak. Kinda like raising the hood does. With a timer to protect 10.4 volt minimum, a 'cool' mod.......but it would do nothing to minimize the need to occasionally burp / vent trapped air......the vented hoses do help in that regard, as long as you have one at the heater valve.

I thought the fan kit helped minimize heat soaking of the engine, thus reducing air pockets in the cooling system. I still check my bleeder value, but no air has been trapped since the fan kit went on.
