I was looking at a few pics today of the SRT and just now noticed that the seat belts are on the other side now. Why did they change that? When I rode in the RT this past weekend, I actually thought it was more comfortable. Now, I know that they changed A LOT of things from the GEN 1-2 to the now GEN 3's but, that was a unique feature to the Viper. I know that Lamborghini has theirs on the opposite side as does the Viper but, it was still a nice feature. Do any of you who owned a GEN 1-2 miss the seat belts being in the middle? If so, why? And if not, why?

Not unique to Viper as Gen I was door mounted. Gen II was center mounted and now Gen III is left B pillar mounted. No consistency.

I prefer the Gen III except that the strap wants to get caught between the seat and the door panel, which would ultimately cause a wear spot on the seat or panel. Being on the outside is more consistent with my other cars and the RT/10 (Gen I).

Thats right, I forgot about the GEN 1's being on the door. Thanks for reminding me. I still like the belts being in the middle better. :D
