It looks like I am going to have to put it on eBay. Not really much action on the VCA board. Probably because you all already have Vipers... Any ebay advise???

Pick me Pick me, I have been messaging you and you have not responded, I am unsure if the messages have failed or if I am simply doing something wrong but I am interested

Well I wouldn't sweat lack of interest based on 2 days IMHO. This will take a few. Be patient if you can. I know I had interest in LOTS of vipers but was careful where my business went. Be ready for ebay to be a real bunch of whiny stealers. Most ebay cars are not selling for even 30k. Offers go out in the 20s. Try autotrader. Though it sounds counter-intuitive, I would make your car sell higher. I tended to stay away from super low priced cars. I think catwood could also attest to some of that when he tried unloading it on AT. Your car is "meticulously maintained" etc. Point out the flaws with good pictures. Advertise the strengths. A great example of someone selling their car right now is actually doing many options (i found him on my local CL in Troy MI). He is selling his 2000 Viper ACR on VCA right now and I probably would have been in serious negociations if his was being sold 2 months ago when i bought my 2000 ACR. He has 150 pictures and his ads are very well done. Good luck but give it time.

Seems like a good deal to me. I forwarded your add to a friend looking.

Thanks. I have already had 2 dealers offer me $31,000 and you know they low-ball becuase they want a big profit in the end. I, of course, said no. To me that means my price is very reasonable. Thanks for notifying your friend.

You might consider putting it on Craigslist or autotrader as well. For that price, I can't imagine it taking that long to sell even with this economy. Actually, I would put it on Crairgslist/autotrader at 36K OBO/will neg. and start from there. I will definately ask around as well for you.

One last piece of advice. Clearly, the car is worth a bit more in this depressed market, but probably not much (+ a few grand). You are quickly seeing that people will ****** this up AROUND the price you are selling and you could decide two things:
1. Wait more and list higher (benefit is getting a few grand more/cost is waiting, sitting, ansewring calls and then possibly having market fall even more).
2. Hold out for 33k (you should get it)
3. Take the 32k and realize you wanted 33k and you got 32k with no hassles, no questions. Would it be worth 1k to get this done with today? Option 3 may start to look really appealing. Don't let emotion play into this with "I could get 35k if I do X Y and Z"

The only thing that made me a little nervous about the add was "clean car fax." Why not say no accidents or damage? Or better yet say both.

The dealer went up to $32,500 and said that is his last buck. I talked to his manager who said he worked him up this high and I do believe him. I think I might take it. The headache is gone like you said in option #3. I have one guy who lives close to me who is waiting for approval at $33K. I will give him his chance and then I will probably take the $32,500. At this point, it makes sense to me as I really don't want to advertise and go through all the negotiations starting at something like $36K and then spend a bunch of time, blah, blah, blah... and then end up back around $33-34K. The mood and situation I am in makes it just not worth the hastle... Thanks everyone for your opinions. This board has been great to me. :)

congrats on the sale gtd, cash is king

best wishes on everything else

Thanks, man. I didn't want to do it, but sometimes you just have to do things you don't want to. Take care and thanks to everyone on this thread that helped me. :)

On a side note, I was having some Wet Okole seat covers embroidered with the Viper logo and they are not done yet. They are black with silver piping and silver letters. When they are done I will put them in the classifieds. Limited market being black and silver, but man I love those things. I had them in my other Viper, and the first thing I did when I bought this one was order a set because they are cool and comfortable.

So, for anybody with a silver or black Gen 2 you might want to take a look. The Wet Okole seat covers look like real seats and are very comfortable. They are much cooler than leather and they keep the leather under nice. I will sell for a very good price. Problem is... I have to pay the embroidery company and then a seamstress to put them back together, so it may cost more to do that than what I end up selling them for??? We'll see.

Thanks again everyone. :)

The seat covers look similar to this except instead of "SS" there would be Viper spelled out just like the logo. Also, these seem a little light-colored as mine are very black (see BMW link below). The "piping" around the seat is the same looking.

Chevy Camaro 1993-1998 Wetokole Hawaii Car Seat Covers

Also, here is a link to their gallery. They used to have a picture of a Viper, but don't anymore? But you can look through the gallery. Mine are all black with silver "piping" around the outside and inside similar to the Camaro picture above. There is one Corvette picture that also looks similar. Here is a link to a BMW one that is similar (the black is better) and the whole gallery (some look terrible like camoflauge... Ignore those):

BMW Z-4 2004-Current Wetokole Hawaii Car Seat Covers

This give you an idea of what they are like. If you ask anyone who has them I am sure they will give a thumbs up.

I paid $295 plus whatever the embroidery is going to cost along with the seamstress who has to put it back together because in order to embroider we had to open the back. I'll probably have $350 in them when they are done. I would take $175 plus about $20 shipping to get rid of them. They are brand new and were never even on the car yet. They only fit a Gen 2. Thanks. PM me if interested.

wet okole are the absolute best, had a few sets in some jeeps and loved them

You are right. They are great. That's why I bought a set right away. Hopefully the embroidery will turn out and someone on the board can use them. They would look great in your silver Viper... nudge nudge wink wink... LOL :lmao: They would also look great in a black Viper. I'll post them when they are done and see if anyone is interested. :)
