I just drove 400 miles to pick-up my brand new viper GTS was in my thought of how perfect it would be and how great the red/silver combo was going to look. I arrived at the dealer and waited for them to open shop(suspense building), They finally arrived and opened the doors and i saw the beautiful sight and thought man it really looks good. So i hopped out and began the 20 step walk to my new car in awe as i was about 3 steps away i thought it sure looks like faint scratch marks none of my previous vipers had scratchs when new and standing upon it i stood in horror and realized what i was looking that what was done by the wash boy and his handy dandy wash brush straight scratches from one end to the other i just couldn,t believe a dealer wouldn,t tell them to hand wash a viper. I was so pissed, I ended up still buying the car at a discount further under invoice but man do some people have no common sense. now out to buffing i go. Jerry(short for bad luck)

That's why I ask the dealer NOT to prep the car before I pick it up. I hope you told them where to stick they're dealer prep fee.

Yep, I *TOLD* the dealer not to touch the outside of the car. Bummer! If it buffs out though, at least you got a discount!

Sorry to hear about your car. On your next Viper, remember the BEST way to take delivery: AT THE FACTORY! No dealer prep, no wash boys, no "test drives", no nothing. I did it with mine and it was the experience of a lifetime. I will NEVER take delivery at a dealership unless it is used or one that was already on the lot. If I order it, it will be a factory pick up at CAAP!

Again, sorry to hear about your troubles and hope everything buffs out just fine. Certainly no better way to get acquainted with your car...
