Got new 04 SRT and am in the learning curve with all features now. Would like to disconnect skip shift and learn all I can. Car is up on lift and took off skid plate section (different than my GTS...has allen-like screws instead of bolts and goes all the way back to differential) and see a multitude of sensors. Anyone have a diagram like I saw once for my GTS telling me whats what. I think I should have a skipshift sensor, reverse lockout and speed sensor...but I dont know which is which. Anybody help??

Everyone seems not to like the skip shift thing.

I've got over 2000 miles on my car, and have had the skip shift cut in only twice.

I don't see what the big deal is.

yeah, I have only hit it twice on my SRT, while following behind the "old folks"... no biggie though, just put it in forth like it wants you too. other than that, dont drive like a *****! you'll never even know you had it. wait for the orange arrow to go off before shifting.

So now that the consensus is that I shift like granny...Can anyone actually answer the question??? Which sensor is for the skip shift as oppossed to others in the vicinity? Anyone have a diagram?

Sorry I can't tell you where the sensor is, but I can tell you that if you disconnect the skip shift on the '04, it will give you a constant "service engine" light. Last time I was at my dealer in Daytona, the mechanic asked me if I wanted him to disconnect it, and then he was surprised that the light stayed on. Apparently that doesn't happen on the 03's. To me, that was more annoying than the seldon problem of the skip shift.

If you change the differential ratio to 3.54, you'll never see that pesky skipshift light again since you blow through the lower rpm range so quickly, which in my opinion is the better option because (i) this gear ratio is much better than stock, given the low end rear wheel torque improvement (which is more useful to me than the top end speed potential), and (ii) you don't have to actually mess with the skipshit apparatus or put up with the resulting service engine light issue. Oh, btw, it's my understanding that in the process of disengaging the skip shift, you'll have to break a boot seal, which is no big deal, but worth avoiding if you can.
