Never, ever, swerve to miss a deer!!! This is what happens. The damage to the front would have been a lot less......

Got to be some of the worst advice I have ever heard!

Always avoid a deer, a higher insurance rate is nothing compared to having a deer come through your windshield and killing you, when you hit them and you are not in a pick up truck the mass of the deer is higher than your bumper, they come right at you! 4-600 lbs of mass right through your windscreen.

:omg: You have huge deer where you live!!!

Where I live now, just the little ones, I have knocked a few masive Caribou off the road up north with my truck, just lightly brushing one of those babies and seeing the damage, completely crumpled front fender on the old Dodge 3500 and you start to have some respect for a heavy object at rest when you are going 80 mph.

But just for comparison sake, relatively speaking, if you crash your car 60-0 in zero feet, and if you are not wearing a seat belt, you go flying through teh windshield and end up lying about 30-50 ft away from your car, chances are you are not in very good shape. Now if you hit a deer that weighs what you do, 170-230 lbs and you hit them at 60 mph, then that deer will have the same relative force to come through your windshield at you and have 30-50 feet travel worth of momentum to hit you with.

you guys are a hoot. it's not like the OP was choosing between hitting a deer and hitting a tree when he swerved. never, EVER, give up and "choose" to hit something, always look for escape and fight to avoid all obstacles until the car is no longer moving. figure out the insurance later. you can afford a viper, you can afford a decent legal/financial advice and some car repair bills too.

No matter how much common sense you are making that Hello kitty on your door just makes me say "WHAT?"

I can say there was no choice made. It was complete reaction. No different if it was a ball, kid, deer, etc. Something comes out in front of you, your immediate reaction is to avoid it. Well at least thats how im wired.

Hello Joe, I'm not sure if my last message went through. In that message I offered to bump the 15,000 dollar offer to 16,000 dollars. Does that put me back on top? Could you send me a message back just to tell me if you got this message not. Thanks John.
