They compared the srt10 (convt) zo6, ford gt, gallardo, f430f1 & new 911 turbo. The viper being the only ******* car. Stats not so bad. ******* viper did 194.8 mph. SRT 10 was tied for 3rd in lap times with the zo6 beating the ford gt & new 911 turbo. In the end they like the viper the best of the american cars

After reading this, I have some hope for a car rag! Not sure why they tested the convertible though.

They should have tested a coupe or better yet, if they want to test a Z06 they should test it against a Compitition Coupe or test the standard vette, not a race Z06, against a standard Viper

srt drop top is lighter than the coupe. only advantage for the coupe is the aerodynamics and that probably won't come into play until over 135+ mph. why would they test against a CC(completly not street legal) that is not a fair test, totally stock street car against a competition only car? Being third in lap times against cars that have all been launched years after the development of the srt still not a bad showing in my mind. Also taking into consideration(with the exception of the Z06) all of the other cars tested cost between $30,000-100,000+ more. Even tying the lap times of the Z06 is quite impressive as far as i'm concerned.
