Can someone recommend a qualified/trusted service garage in the Detroit area (preferably in the Macomb County area). I am a new Viper owner and hate to take it to the dealer for minor service issues.
Thanks

the only people i let service my vpers are Dick Scott Dodge, in Plymouth, on Ann Arbor Rd. 734-451-3535 the service manager is a previous viper owner(twice) and they do very good work. sorry i dont know of anyone to recomend on that side of town, but they are worth the drive.

Tim,

I have learned the hard way to go to a reputable service center even among Dodge dealers. (check my posts on 998 recall)

There is a place in Pontiac that does some Viper work like performance mods but are kinda pricy. They are called Morton's but for other service work go to Dick Scott Dodge!!!

The dealer in Richmond has owned a t least one Viper himself, and he's a performance guy with some drag Dodges etc. Dick Huevre? I think. What kind of non-dealer work are you looking for? I used to take my cars to a quick oil change using MY Mobil 1 and filter, and keeping an eye on what they did underneath...

Don aka 8avette has his vipers serviced at Huvaeres in Richmond. Dick Huvaere used to be quite active in MCVO. If you are on the north side of Macomb that should be a godd bet. I purchased my SRT from Galeana's Van **** Dodge. Never had one serviced there so I can't say. The owner also has a couple of Vipers. I would not recommend either Meadowbrook (absolutely not) or Sterling Heights Dodge. Samaka Vipeme has his serviced at Sterling Heights so he may be able to give you more positive comments. My history with Meadowbrook is piss poor. And the owner is the same for both Meadowbrook and Sterling Heights. SO I wouldn't take a Ford there, let alone a Viper.

Hey Tim, I have a lift at my office on 23 mile rd in Shelby Twp. It's really just for all my bad habits (4 Viper's) If you would like, give me a call and I will help you out,I try to do all my own work on my Viper's.

I almost hate to say this because it may make it harder for me to get in for service right away with any new customers that may result from this :D , but Dick Scott Dodge in Plymouth is the best for Vipers in the Detroit area. The service manager is a Viper club member and I have never left there disappointed. They fix it right and leave me satisfied. My hats off to them, the Viper tech, and the service manager Rod Harris. I go miles out of my way to go to this dealer while there are other Dodge dealers closer. But I had terrible experiences with the closest Dodge dealer to my house (Bob Saks in Farmington Hills) so I take it 10 miles or so farther away to Plymouth.

Sean I agree for significant service. But Dick Scott is a 50 mile drive from my house so it is only an option for a serious service.

Like Don I have my own lift and prefer to do all my own maintenance. I have yet to encounter the need for minor warranty work so I have no idea where I would go.

Since we are on the topic anyone know where to get a full alignment. I installed Eibachs to lower the RT/10 and now need an alignment. Also spent the last few weeks installing new headers and 3 inch exhaust. In the process managed to damage the radiator (drain boss pulled loose) and installed new Roe coolant hoses. Getting the itch to drive the RT/10 again. Still seems to be more fun to drive than the SRT (not faster, just more of a rush). The SRT is just too quiet!

I need a lift too, dang. Anyways, I do as much work as I can by myself too. I pretty much only bring it to the dealer for warranty work as I figure why should I fix something myself if I can get it done for free. But when I do work on the Viper myself it is a labor of love.

I don't know where to get the alingment done, but I hear it costs a pretty penny. Somewhere around $600.
