I don't think I've ever driven a 500+ RWHP car before. Drove a Porsche 930 (? - the original 911 turbo) at Limerock but I don't think that made 500 RWHP and it was a HANDFUL when the turbo kicked in at around 3,500 RPM. That ride was completely schizophrenic; one second you had the throttle to the floor to get it up to 3,000 RPM and then it would hit you in the back with a sledge hammer! Sheesh...how did they race wheel to wheel with those things?
And Laura: Thank You! I won't get too wispy here, but I'm fortunate to have this toy and I KNOW it. The last thing I want to do is make others feel anything but great about their Vipers. So I guess I feel a wonderful sense of anticipatory thrill, but realize that it's still only a car...a VIPER YES!...but still a car.
I'll be happy to try to critique my initial impressions if anyone's really interested. I think the 800+ HP Levin fellows have pretty much expressed it already...and then some
