I'm trying to find the best deal and style on a short throw shifter. Does anyone know the best place to get one? I'm only looking for the handle right now. Maybe the actual short throw assembly later. Also, with the shorter shifter do I need that recessed base ring so my knuckles don't hit or is it really an issue for occasional driving?

You can changed the height as you screw it in place, then use the locking nut to keep it in place. MGW use to sell the best ones, but I don't believe they are selling anymore. I do have a very nice used one for sale. PM me if interested.

Actually I just ran across a good deal on a B&M new in box short throw. Its the precision sport shifter. But I still need a handle. I am looking at the First Strike handle. It looks like it may be a tad taller than the other short knobs.. But im still sending you a pm.

Thanks

MGW does not make Viper shift knobs anymore, but the MGW shifter (the best shifter there is) itself is available still through me.

I was told the chrome fang 3d first strike is no longer available. Working with them to decide 2nd option. Thinking about getting the red one instead. I asked if the background color could be removed and polished but havent heard back. Now that my tranny is busted i have time...

There is not a better short throw shift kit on the market that compares with the MGW model -- sorry, nothing comes close.

Agree. Didn't know that MGW stopped making them.....guess we need to sell a more Vipers....

The MGW first strike shift nob works well with the factory shifter, thought it's not the MGW short throw unit.....

For clarification, can someone post a pic of the MGW, or a link of one? From what I am reading there are two different models being discussed here. The first strike, which is made by MGW, and 'THE' MGW? What is 'THE' MGW?
