Have at it in a straight line! :headbang:

Roll into it when not pointed straight ahead. You'll get the feel for it quickly and then you can make some videos and post them here for our enjoyment! :D

Maybe i need to repeat....Try 1/2 throttle first....then do .625, then .750, etc....The young lad WILL LEARN and safely might I add...It is what it is.
Very good advice!Ghayes,at least you are willing to listen and err on the side of caution, which bodes well for the long term survival of you and your Snake.Enjoy!

Go out and find an autocross and then try stabbing the gas. This way it's safe (if the lot is good), and you don't have to spend a lot of money. If you spin, no big deal, but you will get your answer. My first and second run I was rather cautious. But after my third run I pretty much had the car pinned to the floor in second gear whenever I could, with no problem. First gear needed to be babied, but that's on the autocross.

I equate abrupt throttle mashing with snatching your steering wheel while riding down the highway at 60mph. You just don't do it.

That is EXACTLY the analogy that came to my mind. Maybe its because I'm an old fart that hasn't really been into horsepower wars before owning this car; but, I seem to have had "almost" no problems with my car. I don't drive agressively in town; and out of town, I rapidly (very rapidly) accelerate, but hardly ever "stab" at the gas pedal. Yes, there have been a couple of times coming into a tight uphill turn that one wants to grab second and stab the gas, and that is a real no-no. I saw exactly what can happen there at Viper Days when a fellow "student" didn't get to drive his Viper home.

Warfang... I think you drive a red GTS with white stripes.
Ya think? ... Considering my sig says, "97 GTS red/white."

Pretty car.
Them's fightin' words! :evilmad: Flowers and ballerinas are pretty. Vipers are bad@$$... unless they have dolphins painted on them. :p :buttkick:

If we don't rib you, we don't love you. Welcome to the party, pal! :D
