I am contemplating lowering my 94 RT another inch or two.

Cosmetically I know it will look great, but I worry about making it too impractical going up driveways, etc. Anyone have any recommendations on this?? 1 inch or 2, or should I just leave it?

Finally, what should something like this cost?

Thanks in advance for any input on this...

I think that if you are going to run it on the street you should leave it. Going lower will make the car impractical in many situations. If you run primarily on a track, go for it! No doubt it will look better.

Finally got it !

hey Tim I will tell you In May. Chuck is going to install the Eiabch Springs for me.
Figure The cost of the springs and a full alignment is a must!!!!

I put eibachs on my car. Its about a 1.5 HR job and is a fun project. My car only scrapes in extreme places. I was weary of doing it but an happy that I did.

Good luck in whatever you choose. If you dont like it you can always put the old springs back on.

Tim,
My -93 was lowered with Eibach springs. It lowered about an inch, maybe bit more. I like it, its a bit more bouncier, does not bother me on the street. Might be a good time to redo the shocks.
I found springs on e-bay for 140 bucks (new from Eibach), today they seem to be about 240-250. Easy to remove. The shop charged me 60 bucks to put new ones on shocks. I put them myself on car and alignment was out of specks. I took it to alignment shop and that was 350 bucks, he did a fantastic job.
I would not go back anymore, car looks 10 times better!

Yes the front scrapes here and there, couple of dead squirrels get easily scraped off the road... but thats what my bodyshop guy is for.
I have plenty of before and after pictures if you want, let me know.

Lowering a Viper is a must if you care about looks(most Viper owners are narcissist)so do it. Make sure you get the Viper alligned afterward. You lose the 4-wheeling look.

So I'm basically looking at $500-$600 including springs & alignment. Not too bad, I can only imagine it handling so much tighter. I think I may go for it. It looks killer!

RedEnuf93,
I'd be interested in seeing your before/after pics. If you could post them up here or email them to [email protected] i'd appreciate it. You have basically the same car. Thanks!

I agree with Bruce...I rarely take it on the track, so I'm leaving it as is. Vipers sit low enough and unless you're a real fanatic, you won't even notice the lower look. Just one good scrape and I would wish I hadn't lowered it. Just my opinion! :smirk:

Are you kidding me? There is a big diference to the eye once you lower it. Quit being cheap and get it done you wont regret it. :2tu:

I say lower it, I have seen Lauri's car in person and it looks great! Also looking at saphireGTS's car makes the GTS look awesome too. Get the Eibach's and don't try to cut the springs.
I want to lower mine soon.

Not sure, but I think Eibach only makes one set of springs for the viper. The Pro Kit.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Four fingers in back before springs. Two now, but went to slightly taller wheel/tire combo, so I'd say car is lower by an inch and change on mine.
