Leave it there, so the best work possible can get done. It's like letting your kid spend the night some where for the first time. All you have to do is drop it off, take out some paper and pen while he is watching, and write down the mileage in front of him. It also does not hurt to speak to other owners he has performed work for. Nothing makes you feel better than speaking to another owner regarding the quality of work you are about to have done on your precious possession! Good luck.

Re: Should I or shouldn\'t I?

Be careful with these so called expert body and fender people at dealerships. I had a little scratch when I bought my car from someone at the factory or dealership lifting the rear trunk too far. They assured me that they could fix it so good, I would never know it was there. I kept looking at that little scratch, and I knew that most people would never see it, so I told them to leave it alone. By the way, I left my car for 2 days with them, and they did not drive it anywhere. But they did leave about a 4 inch diameter scratched up area around this mark as though some expert had tried to fix it. I was so steamed that I got out the polish and was able to fix it after working on it for a few hours. I told the manager at the dealership, and he said that this person was going to be fired for a bunch of other reasons. The next time I let anybody touch my paint, it is going to be a custom shop, that does real custom work...

Me,I will not even bring the car but only 1 sill and the front fascia that I will R&R myself.
They don't need the car to match the paint, just the old parts.
If you decide to let them do it beside checking the mileage, there are at least 2 things on the sills that you should inspect.

The plastic plugs (8)that need to be removed to get to the sills top screws can be VERY hard to remove without scratching the paint around them.
Best and safest way to do it to drill a small hole in the center and use a pick to remove them.
Just put some new plugs, they are cheap ($1.50 each)
Part # 48 48 881-AA

Also the sills retaining screws can be over-torqued very easy and will not hold the sill afterward.

If you treat Viper Service like the purchase, doing your homework, you should have a great experience. Talking to others that have used any of his services will either give you the comfort level you need, or provide you with the caution you need to excessive. Be patient and do it right and you will be rewarded.

someone had also suggested taking photos of all sides when you drop it off. Some story like "I'm sure going to miss it" while you get evidence of the condition when you left it...

Only suggestion I would make is have them paint the entire bumper, as it should come off to paint anyway. It shouldn't be hardly anymore and the finished product will look like new. You can almost always tell on those half a bumper blended paint jobs.
