Well, I mean your tips....your exhaust tips, to be precise :smirk:

Some background:
The only thing I am not so pleased with is the stock exhaust of my stock '98 RT/10. While wanting to keep the car stock for the most part I do plan to upgrade the exhaust as the biggest mod. Now, I already came to the conclusion of buying a 3" Corsa system plus HF cats (keep stock headers). Actually, I was close to placing an order but browsing the internet I by chance stumbled over an exhaust shop relatively close to where I live. This shop has specialized in building custom systems and they also had built the systems for the Zakspeed Viper many years ago (for those who know). So, I was curious, contacted them and finally got a quote for a complete "V-band clamp back system" (3" stainless steel) which was very attractive.

To come to the point:
When it came to the style of the tips (4" is what I am having in mind) the owner of the shop said he could almost do every style I want. And this is now the issue. Although I like the look of the Corsa tips a lot, I was thinking to explore this a bit more before I make a decision (want to do it next month when the car is going to be "reanimated").

So, I would like to ask you for a favor and to post pictures of your "rear end" exhaust tips, the more variations (size, length, angles, forms etc.) the better. Custom systems as well as Magnaflows, Borlas, Corsas, B&Bs etc. Close-up pics would be perfect.

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Well, I took her on a short test drive without sill covers. First impression after firing her up was "Gee! This is loud!". Maybe too loud. But after warming up, it seemed that it became better (still louder than stock, of course). Unfortunately, I noted a bit of a drone between 2000-2500 RPM, which was disappointing to me as I purchased the CORSA not only because of the looks but also because it was confirmed to be drone free. Maybe it is due to the HF cats and maybe it will improve after some warm up - cool down cycles. I guess I need to drive it a few more times before I come up with my overall judgement (love it, change it or leave it :smirk:).

As for the GTI's: Are you referring to the Golf (Rabbit) GTI's? Well, I don't care so much about those except for when they seem to "creep" into my trunk sometimes. So I will be quite concerned now with my new rear end! :lmao2:

No drone on my setup with high flow cats, but then your setup is different to mine - just a small resonator after the cats, but that would be way too loud for Germany. Maybe check if the Exhaust is touching any part of the body or frame...Did you need to take it through TÜV to get the setup approved?

Yes, Golf GTI's, the German equivalent to beefed up Civics :) Most of them think they have the fastest car of the road. I was driving by at a GTI meet once a few years ago at the Woerthersee in Austria (biggest one there is) , and let me tell you: youth, beer and cars don't mix well when put together  You didn't want to show up in anything but a VW or Audi, or you would have had a mob after you :omg:

Seems like you have spent some time in Europe!? Yeah, the meeting at the Woerthersee is well known and "famous" :doh2: My first car ever was a Golf (but not a GTI) but I never made it to this festival :D
