Just bought a new couch for the garage. Saw this at the stir and thought it was perfect. A little pricey tho but the led blue lights sold it for me.

Nice garages guys!

HGTV had a 'Top 10' 'Garages' episode with some video runthroughs of some nice garages around North America.

Topical, since one of the pundits in the episode describing the designs is none other than Viper boss Ralph Gilles. He is not bad actually at describing garage designs, not surprising since his former day job was car designs.

Just watched whole vid - really well done!! Kinda makes me want to buy a 911. Almost. I like the 'old school' color in the garage too. But do you need a particularly flat bottom on the car to use that lift? I figure many cars would be crushing exhaust and tranny components.

Thanks. Yeah, I did the lift that way because I cold get away with it with my 911. I've used it to lift up my Jeep and BMW, and I use blocks to support the frame with those. It still works, but if I was working on those cars regularly, I'd want a more conventional automotive lift.

What are you folks using for heat and air? Are you using an electric heater that hangs/mounts up toward the ceiling or something like gas? What about AC, conventional AC unit or window mount?

I just completed a 900 square foot 2nd garage/shop and finished the floor with UCoatIt and the optional gloss finish. I'm getting ready to insulate and add drywall hopefully shortly but was curious about heat and air.

I just installed a Mitsubishi Split-Air system in mine. I found the box
heater and window a/c added about $500/y to my already expensive
electrical bill. I am also heating the apartment above the garage, so
keep that in mind.

The split system works like a traditional central air unit except its very
small. Unit sits outside and a regisiter is mounted on the wall. I have
a very effective a/c unit, heater, fan, and dehumidifer and the one unit
works both floors equally. Be warned, its pricey - but I wouldnt go with
anything else from here on out...

Here's my progression/story

I go for the more simplistic look, plus on a budget. This is your regular daily use 2 car garage.


Cleared out the left half of the garage to prep for the arrival of the car. This used to be completely full of junk from my remodeling; to the point of touching the car on the right.

Installing 10 LED 6" recessed lights

Lighting effect achieved (light glistening off the cars like a showroom)

Floor finished. Also added three additional outlets in the garage; there was only ONE outlet on the right hand side, so I added one near the doors, one on the left side, and one near the front.

Painted the walls, trim, and concrete foundation (concrete was important, the original concrete didn't look nice and this finished it off quite nice)

I couldn't decide between epoxy and Racedeck, so I went ahead and did both. Racedeck over by the future cabinet work area, epoxy for the cars. Also added crown molding all the way around.

Simple average ordinary garage (with GTS blue matched epoxy floor) but in it is my '05 SRT10 Ram with Paxton and custom Air/Water road race cooler set up. My '96 Heffner Twin Turbo GTS with a side of NOS and while it does not fit in the garage, my '12 Ram Limited 3500 with Carli 3.0 Dominator suspension and 37" Toyos...

Yvette had the SRT8 Jeep out and about...

Garage may not be pretty but I LOVE the contents!

I'm using a through the wall unit that says it will handle a 1200 sqft apartment and I have a 600 sqft garage. It's a heat pump, electric heat, air conditioner, fan, and dehumidifier. It was $1000. Works perfectly.
