The consensus is that that high flow cats run cooler.I just recently went to no cats and the sills are comfortably warm. Not hot anymore.I beleive Jon B has louvers that can be installed in front of the sills that will let air circulate trough.BTW the heat shielding around the cats was burnt and blackened far worse than the shielding over the headers. I will say though that letting the engine idle for a minute or two before shutdown did cool down the cats somewhat and minimize the heat soak.

Perhaps one day I'll do both sides.</FONT f>

I tested mine with an infrared thermometer after driving last summer. After parking in the garage, I opened the hood and checked the temps every few minutes. The highest I got was around 190 after 5 minutes or so. According to my local PPG dealer, 190 is not hot enough to discolor paint.
