Side sills very tight after Cat back install

I installed the Billy Boat cat back exhaust on my 02 ACR today and got everything lined up, fitting, etc. When putting the side sills back on, the mufflers are touching the inside heat shield and I have to lean against the sill to get the holes to line up. Is it normal to be this tight fitting or, should the muffler be suspended in the middle of the sill with air all around between the side muffler and the heat shield?

Its not good to have the mufflers touching the sill, and now that you are in there get rid of thoughs Cats they **** eggs, you will be amazed how cool the sills are without the Cats.

I installed Billy boats on my 1996 gts with out the mufflers hitting the side sills?????
