Is it normal for one side to be hotter than the other side. The drivers side is hot but I can touch it, the passenger side is much hotter and I can only touch it for about 2-3 seconds. There also is a smell like something is burning, is that also normal.

Shhhhhh.....he's in California. Doing that there is the equivalent of drowning baby kittens.

Do it, cut those badboys out.

If you want to save partial kitten, cut the cats in half and reweld
