Over 100 Corvettes!!, 3 Ferraris - A testasrossa in the 110 class
a 360 Modena in 125 class (won "best exotic" trophy)
a 348 TS,around 20 or so Porsches (including 2 new yellow TT's in the 125 class!),
only seven VIPERS!!!!!!!!
Think soon they are going to call this the Corvette silverstate
classic!!! When they announced that most beautiful car was a Viper there was a room full of BOO'S!!!!!!!!

The recipient of the "Most Beautiful Car" award was selected by the public who attended the car show before the race. It was mandatory for all cars entered in the competition to be on display at the car show. The Vipers were GREATLY outnumbered by the Corvettes, Mustangs and Porsches; but the choice was up to the public, not us. Especially irritating were the comments from the Porsche people (in their cutsey little grapes and cheese team shirts) that the Viper was unrefined (i.e. lacks cupholders) and was overpowered (overpowered!? what? that's the whole point of a sports/race car isn't it?) and the comments from the Corvette people that implied that the Viper people had no cajones. I pointed out to one Vette guy that there are vastly more Corvettes than Vipers and that alone could account for the attendance ratio. But really, it would be great if more Vipers would show up. If ever there was a venue suited to the Viper, this is it. BTW: This may seem like sacrilege, but if it had been up to Wayne and I, the "Most Beautiful Car" award would have gone to a beautiful yellow Ferrari.
