Sirius radio from Dodge for \'05 Viper

I ordered the radio from Partsrack using the number posted on this board within the past month or so, but during installation the Vipertech found that it is short one wiring harness between the receiver and the radio. Is this a shortage in the radio package, or is there a separate installation kit needed? Jon is out for funeral in Alaska, so I wondered if anyone on this board could answer the question. The radio is installed, but without the harness it won't work. Thanks

You do need to get the entire wiring kit. Then you also need the Sirius adapter kit. The radio itself is only sirius ready. I got the ipod adapter also.

Re: Sirius radio from Dodge for \'05 Viper

Thanks, Cajun Viper, I was beginning to wonder if anyone knew about this thing. Can you tell me where and how I can order the ipod adapter? Is this available from Dodge? Do you know the part number? My dealer in Slidell says his parts counter can't find anything compatible for the Viper, though I know they should because the Sirius radio IS a Dodge part. Thanks again for your reply! By the way, my wife taught elementary school in Gonzales in 1970 while I was in law school at LSU. Go Tigers!

I have tried to find that, but the only thing I can find is the factory sirius radio with RB1 and IPOD. My sirius is an add-on, without ipod. The car has the std radio with disc changer, so I still don't have a clue of what kit or harness Dodge can send me. Do I need a "kit" for this? Or was the harness supposed to come with the sirius radio? Sorry to not understand this better.

Call 914.763.3136 Chuck Tator, Tators Dodge. There is a reason we call him the Wizard. He helped me with this whole radio issue. He's done a lot of installs.

Chuck, you da man! Thanks for the info. For everyone else: Chuck said that I need an installation kit made for the Sebring/Stratus, which has the harness, etc that I need, that being part no. 8220 7925, to go with my Sirius radio receiver, part no. 8200 6488AB. Anyone wanting to put a sirius in a Viper can use these two parts to complete the installation. The radio is about $169 through Partsrack, and about $150 (?) for the installation kit. Thank you Mr. Wizard Chuck Tator of Tators Dodge. I do appreciate the help available through this Viper Board. You guys are the greatest.
