Question for the track guys. Anyone running slotted, cross drilled or both on an SRT-10? Any improvement noted? Can you "turn or machine" this type of rotor? Would you want to? Whose do you like best? Which brand / type of pads work best with these for the track? Street?

Planning to do some VCA events this winter in CA (first timer).
Stock brakes are pretty good. Is there any reason to upgrade brakes? Suggestions?

Comp Coupe World Challenge cars run a 2 piece Brembo race rotor - VERY cool. Rather expensive. They have a newly engineered slot pattern. NOT DRILLED. Stock rotors are cheap. Comp Coupe has brake cooling ducts and hats for the calipers - pricey.

Comp Coupe pads available from Archer Racing - very good track pad.

In most cases, the brakes are the best part of the car and will outperform most drivers.

The reason for drilled and/or slotted rotors is to evacuate the off-gasses of the brake pads. But from what I've read the new pad compounds don't have the same gas issues as before. Also drilled rotors have been known to crack under constant braking pressures of track racing.

Most of the racing rotors that I've seen lately are only slotted. And I don't think that they can be turned.
