Smooth tubes and K&N\'s, anyone have a pic of this setup?

Could someone post a picture of what this setup looks like? Also, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could someone direct me to a vendor that sells what I'm looking for? A web address would be great, or even a phone number. I'm doing a lot of reading and research about Vipers and am learning quite a bit. I'd just like someone to steer me in the right direction.

Roe Tubes. I originally had some air box clips popping off after switching to K&N's and simply FLATTENED them out a little per this board for a perfect fit!

Some people will argue that there is no change is performance or sound - and I would disagree. Engine has a completely different sound to it. I'd make a claim about HP gains but dont want to revive any VIPAIR threads - let that dog lie!

I don't think you'll get an argument that smooth tubes and K&N (or free breathing filter of your choice) adds some horsepower. Not *50*, but some.

Go to a tractor store or NAPA & buy some hose & autozone for the filters. Those thin silicone tubes pinch & squeal when the air flow is just right. (1/4 throttle) At least mine did.

Plus there is no reason to pay $100 for some "non-corrugated" air hoses.

I've done it to both my Vipers. I often wonder how much "real" HP gain there is. Most anyone says there is some. I would like to see a bone stocker, dyno, then add only smooth tubes and filters and see that dyno.

Would it make sense to think that change should gain the same for all bone stock applications? I always heard 7 to 12 HP pick up?????

It's one of the cheaper thrills you can get in your Viper, I'd do a third time.

Nat,
emailed you back this afternoon, tubes on the way. Stock Snake-Oyl
tubes, never used, four clamps, instructions. Enjoy.

Nat, For the K/N's you might want to search on a post by Steve in Indy. He said he sent his oil to be analyzed and found higher levels of silicone using K/N's. Does make sense. Since he wasn't out to be the fastest man in the land he switched to a high performance paper filter and just replaces it often, once a year for him.

I think Purolator makes it. It also has a foam element like stock but much smaller. I'm considering trying them.
