So How Much To Repaint The Viper??

I have heard $6K on the low side to $10K on the high side. Just depends on the body shop and the amount of time they plan to put into it.

Yeah I agree with low about $6K to $8K, more with stripes of course, and yes prep has a lot to do with it, also the time of season...

I burned through $4,200.00 just having some body molding work,side sills,wing,hood roof vent, and touch up stuff done..

I had a bunch of scratches also, body guy just sanded and recleared, no need for repaint, also they have a product called "REJECTS" it removes most scratches and leaves a polished look that spanks, had mine done last week...

In order to do a quality paint job, are the body parts disassembled, painted and then reassembled? Or is everything just masked and painted without any disassembly?

I don't see how they could do a quality job without at least some disassembly. I have seen far too many cars that were poorly masked before painting and it is so easy to detect.

If you are not changing the color and use the proper masking tools you do not need to take the car completely apart. $10K is way high. I would thing 3-6K is more like it if it does not need any body work. Stipes are a ***** to get right and you need to add at least $500 to put them on. The car should be IR cured then wet sanded and buffed. Not to many shops have IR curing, but it will really flow the paint nice and make it as durable as the factory paint.

Actually, I have a big project in mind that involves the gen 3 car. I plan to remove every body panel for the paint job (changing color) but I do not have the car yet so I do not know exactly how every panel gets removed. The doors might stay on but the mirrors and handles will definately have to come off.

This is the only way I can see how the job could be done right. It seems like a HUGE project, so 12k to do a paint job like this would probably be about right. Like it was stated earlier, it depends on what you are doing.

JiPi: Factory color, only had it painted because of the added NACA and it was getting a little tired.

Vipeuup: Which rivets do you mean? Any that were in a "painted" area were removed.

It was about 6K, As I get a "frequent" customer price my guess is 7-8K anywhere else.

its a ***** replacing the rivits. That is how you can tell a viper as been repainted. 99% of the time the rivits are painted.
