So out of all the Gens, or even which year out of the Gens, is or will be the most collectable.

Are most older Gens the collectables, or is the 2nd or 3rd Gens in that range?

My guess is Gen l and Gen ll. But the older the car, in most cases, the more collectable it becomes. Go to a car show and see which cars make the top 20. It's almost always cars from the 60s down.

I think the Viper could get interesting. The gen 4 and 5 had some of the lowest production numbers, together with the ACR treatment I think they could stand to be pretty good collector cars in the future. I think the gen 1 and 2 will still be some good ones though. You can't really beat the original roadster and the original coupe. And it's not like any year had that high of production numbers, so while they are interesting to look at, I don't know if they'll really play into it all that much.

I have a small list of what I consider “Holly Grail” Vipers and they’re not what people imagine. They are truly rare in number and none of them are part of the 1 of 1 program or a Special Edition Viper.

Well, two of them are ACR-X's. Not because of who owned them, but when they came off the line.
1B3DZ8JZ5AV100507
1B3DZ8JZXAV100499.. MDH wise, they were the last two 2010's to be built

1996 1B3BR65E6TV100005.. Viper Dark Green.. Just one!!!

there is one 2017 that I also think will be a "Holly Grail" Viper, that is
1C3BDEDZ4HV500846.. Again MDH wise, the last Viper

One of my favorites is 1C3BDEDZ3HV731947. This Viper VIN is supposed to a secret to the total Vipers built (31,947), somebody miscounted their fingers. This may never be a Holy Grail Viper, however, it will always be a story

1996 Vipers. There are 7 Marketing / Public Relations Vehicles. With the value and love for the of the Blue and White 1996, these with enough research could be very telling. I have not done that research.

1B3BR65E3NV100076 This is the 1992 that was painted Viper Black, wish I knew the VIN to the Yellow and Green one

So, my opinion means nothing when it comes to rarity. The buyers and sellers will ultimately drive that discussion. Way back in 2015 I posted the following list so people could make their own lists. I have not added to it with the final 3 years of GEN V numbers

This is what I came up with (doesn't include stripe options). Also doesn't include colors that were changed post production. Can you imagine how the rarity changes by including stripe options. All Viper's are rare, some just a little more than others

1992-2014

The least appreciated, currently, that has the best long-term potential is the '99 ACR. It's the only year ACR with the forged motor.

Clean original Gen 2 GTS's will always be a good one to have.

BTW, All 1999 ACR engines (motors) are cast aluminum (like all Vipers). Only the pistons were forged.

I personally like my 1996 Hennessey 700R :)

I believe only 3 of these were made. Mine may be the only 96 but not sure

When you ask the question which Viper will become the most valuable, you should consider that almost all Vipers were made virtually the same. Same interior (with small exceptions of panels, or dash panel, etc) and same paint (except for some with strips), etc. To distinguish one from the other is just a minor change difference. The ACR's are unique in how they were made, but then again a number of them were made for sale to the public. Which Viper was really uniquely promoted by Viper as being unique, advertised as such, and the public needed to pay much more money for that option? In my humble opinion it has to be the original 2006 Snakeskin Viper. (not the green Viper). They were advertised uniquely as a special edition, had posters made, had advertising and promoted to magazines on what that option was, and worked really hard to make a go of it. It was a $25,000.00 option to the buyer. Special badges and emblems with "Snakeskin" actually under the "Viper SRT-10" badging on the car both inside and out. It had snakeskin seats, steering wheel, shifter, dash panel, roll bars, sun visors, and console (with medallion embroidered). Most amazingly, it has a very special snakeskin paint (hand painted that looks like real snakeskin that's just amazing in quality). The entire car was professionally done as a Snakeskin and the window sticker had an added sheet to show all of that extra work and what you got for your extra $25K. If you've never seen one (which is not surprising, since only 7 were ever made) you'll know it's very unique.

I did extensive research on this subject and found out that the 1999 silver and blue stripe GTS owned by some guy in Arizona will be worth a ton of money. Just my 2 cents:D

Didn't see the ketchup and mustard RT/10 (red w/yellow wheels - I think they were produced in 1994 or 1995?) or the 96 RT/10 with white wheels and blue stripes (about 315 made)... in Viper Jeff's list.

I bought my white 96 as a 2yr old. The seller offered me either the original white painted wheels or the silver wheels, but not both sets. I figured I could always paint the wheels white again in the distant future.. if need be.

insert smile here

Truth be told, there are 31,956 of them scattered amongst a couple of dozen years.

What makes it cool is we all have our favorites and Holy Grail Vipers. Only time will tell
