In the November issue of Hemmings Motor News:
95 Viper black exterior/interior, both tops 26 original miles.$58,000 obo.
96 RT/10 Black with Silver stripes, both tops, under 200 miles. $45,000
02 FE GTS #162 of 360. 57 original miles. $79,000 obo.
I may be wrong but does that seems like some pretty good prices on these vehicles?

26 miles on a 95!? WOW!

Strikes me as kind of sad on two points:
1..This kind of car not driven in 12 years?!
2.. What a crappy investment. Cost of a new '95 was somewhere around 56K or 57K. They are trying to sell this for roughly the same price?:dunno:
Put 57K anywhere else for 12 years and see what you get. I'd at least understand if it had been driven. Not trying to offend, just my opinion.

I really was interested in analyzing this so take a look at how I figured this:
$58,000 cash purchase (probably most don't put down all $58k but for sake of argument lets say we did) plus 12 years of insurance, any repairs or cost of ownership, equals $58,000 return. (which is several thousand less when you factor out expenses)
$58,000 invested at 5% (consevatively figured) for 12 years equals $104,159.67
So my grand point is you are better off driving it like you stole it than putting it in a museum hoping its worth alot of money some day. p.s. how many years would you have to hold the car to be worth $104,159.67 that the $58,000 is worth after only 12 years?

Have to agree, it's a a terrible investment, if that's why you have it and I imagine that's why some do. However, some people probably buy it because they just plain appreciate the car and the idea of having an original time capsule automobile. I bought a GT2 many years ago and it currently has less than 1000 miles. Could have done many wiser things with my money, but I don't care, car is not for sale and no, I will never make money on it. We all enjoy Vipers in different ways, there should not be considered a right way, or a wrong way, just different ways.:)

yea... terrible investment. I don't know if they had it just for looks. But figuring at 7%(which is pretty conservative), he could have doubled that money in 12 years. Not to mention insurance, which would be cheap because he didn't drive it... Oh well.

Some interesting replys here.I am one of these people who believe in driving my car 47K on a 94 would be considered high milage but I don't really consider this high miliage on car that is 14 years old. But many people would. I have to agree with the "standing cars" comments. I assume that these cars were in private collections or museums. I would assume that these cars were exercised or maintained to some extent. These cars seem to be the ultimate in "low milage" cars. You are basically buying a "new" car here for the year it was manufactured. Now I am curious what would be considered a "low milage" car for the year of these cars manufacture 2K,4K, 10K miles?

I think my 1600 mile Sapphire/Silver GTS is priceless so I am guessing 70 is not that bad. I still think you should have sold it to me for 64. ;) :lmao:

For Viper anything over 10k seems to be high mileage for some reason, regardless of the year. :dunno: I would like to think this perception has to change eventually. Corvette's 50,000 seems to be the magic number where nobody wants them.

I think $58k for that '02 was a great deal, given 7/70 warrantly if still on MSO as mentioned. $79k would have been crazy - unless an FE ACR and special # of 360, IMHO. Mine is still available in classifieds...

I would be worried that the 95 has pretty much never been driven as some has already stated.

The 96, same deal. They will most likely at least have wheel alignment issues from sitting for so long.

The 2002, I understand that it is a final edition, but that price seems a bit high to me. For about $5,000 more you can get the brand new 2008.
