unclgreggy,

If it's an older GenI, yes it happens quite a bit. Researching this board for years, you should have known better... Lots of ppl have tried that, but the paint isn't a problem, it's the hood (mat'l, etc). If they fix it in one spot, over time, it will appear in another. Just wait until the small cracks start to show

Unless DC comes out with a mini-van or new Ram type revolutionary product that swells the corporate ledger, I wouldn't hold your breath.

You know, I keep going back to what our tour guide at CAAP said about one month ago (I believe anything anyone says, as long as it is what I want to hear), that the GTS will be out about 2 years after the RT. He seemed pretty confident. HOPE HOPE!

today is one of those days I really want to blowtorch my car. here's the story. I bought this car about two years ago out of state. It looked clean and had only a few thousand miles. anyway, a few months ago I noticed the paint on the hood started bulbbling on the hood right at the outline of the entire front tip. (like where it meets the head lights and so on.) Got really, really pissed. Took it to the body shop who is very experienced w/ fiberglass. turns out the car was hit - not bad at all - no frame damage. It looked as if maybe someone backed into it or was a low speed front hit. so I have the whole hood stripped down the the fiberglass, repainted stripes and all. job was really good. right? wrong. the bulbbles are back in the same spot. took it to the shop and he has no problem fixing it. he says he's going to grind it down and then refiberglass it and let it cure nicely then repaint it. Whatever. my question is this: has anyone ever heard of this happening before, what did you do, etc. any comments would help. once the new gts is out this car is gone.

note: body shop guy is good so I dont think someone else would be the answer.

What you describe is normally caused by a contaminated surface during repair, ie; improper cleaning, left over wax, silicones from the shop, water vapor in an airline, even an oily fingerprint. Another common source ia oil bypassing the rings of the compressor, while being painted.

Grinding out the repair before proper cleaning can actually force the contaminent into the "glass". I'll bet your body shop will go the extra mile to "disinfect" the area this time. Easy to miss on a "re-repair".

Some of the simplest repairs can be a shops biggest headache. Don't dump the car, I'll bet they get it right this time!
