What a test of ethics. You've done your due diligence; talked to the cops, neighbors, posted the VIN, etc. to try to help out, but it's still there. Let's strip that puppy!!!!:drive:

Maybe the owner is watching this thread waiting for the Midnight Auto Crowd. Then they can claim auto theft and vandal damage instead of suffering a self-induced accident claim?

This is really wierd, especially the inaction by the police.

Is there a trunk release inside the 2000 RT/10? I was thinking just in case we have rain and someday someone wants to try and save this car or its interior I would look in the trunk and see if the roof panels are in there and put them on.
Or find the dead body with your prints all over the trunk release ! :crazy2:

I can't believe that the cops can't find the owner. How difficult is it for them to run the VIN and trace the origin??? It's probably stuck in the beauracratic quagmire. Meanwhile the car just sits. It will probably be towed to the impound lot and eventually auctioned off.

If that car was left here in Motown overnight I gurantee you it would on blocks with nothing left but a frame and dust. Probably not even the frame...:lmao:

Car is still there this morning (Monday) so we are up to about 55 hours. I think I found a telephone number for the owner and I just left him a voice mail. We'll see if he calls back. The weather is absolutely gorgeous here so that interior is not going to get rained on. Still torqued off that my power window broke AGAIN right when it is prime Viper driving season.

On the other hand you could leave a note in his car letting him know which of has parts he could buy used to replace his damaged pieces.. :D

Cops may be watching the car and waiting for somebody to come and get it. Or it may have just fell through the cracks. :dunno:

I have also seen where they put tracking devices in cars and put them out there to bait car thieves but I am guessing this is not the case with this one.

Now, if you had a pair of latex gloves and were very, very careful removing those seats...

Wait, that would be unethical. :nono:

I have a contract with a towing company through work. I could have that car outta there by noon. Then it's parts sales galore!!!

I suppose that would be bad form too...

With all the spring training teams in town, you might consider calling someone from the Mariners to see if any of their players has a black RT. I think it's feasible. Downtown Scottsdale is quite the hang out for a young baseball stud. :dunno:

I guess we'll see where it goes from here. :eater:

Damn! you scared me when you got to the washington plates part. My black washington plated RT-10 is currently in storage--almost had me bolting out the door to make sure it's still there. ;)

When I took delivery of my 99 black rt last summer there was a 2000 black rt being delivered to my area, which is near Everett. I wonder if that's the car.

Man, I can only imagine all the agony the owner's in. Assuming he's the one who did the damage and abandoned it, then he's probably already in custody... and he's crying into the stainless steel toilet in his cell. If he isn't the one who did the damage... he's probably just finding out where his Viper's been for the last 3+ days and what condition it is in.

I really feel for the guy regardless... he's screwed! I'm pretty certain it's totaled. Hopefully everyone will get a chance to upgrade some parts... seats, window regulator, side sills, roll bar pad, etc.

Do you think we should create a donor program for Vipers that meet an untimely death? Similar to donating one's organs? ;)

PhoenixGTS, did you check your PM's? They're not coming for the car. You need to call Phoenix PD and have it towed. It will sit there until someone calls. The ball was dropped the night they didn't take any action. My guess is that Scottsdale notified Phoenix, the call was either not put in or got lost in the shuffle. Take it from someone who knows.

Came home from work and the car is gone. Proud to say I did NOT steal anything off of it while it was out there! Have not heard from any nighbors if there is a story to it being removed. Still very sad to see yet another Gen II die - and this one only had 7,800 miles on it. :(

If you happen to have a local buddy with a black RT/10, invite him over for a visit, park the car in your driveway or in the same spot.. and wave to your neighbors or a thumbs up, let them know it's all fixed up now..

It was unfortunate to see a car just like mine totalled.. guessing it's probably now sitting in an impound lot uncovered.:crazy2:

Good job otherwise.. sounds like you had good intentions and would have helped out to take care of the car. :2tu:

Nothing from police? I'd want to know why a wrecked Viper showed up across the street.
Updates?
