After our four hour ride on Sunday, I had mine out Tuesday afternoon, and when I went to out it away, it smelled like something was burning...almost like a wood fire, didn't smell like oil or anything like that. I want to try and swing by the dealer and have them take a look before going to Tators next week. That would **** breaking down on the way there.

Power steering cap was the first thing I checked, and it was tight. So far I have been taking it to Dave at Brenner Dodge, he is their only certified Viper Mechanic. He seems very thorough and spends a lot of time talking with me about the car.

I hit a racoon last week, I smell him every day I start the car. He ended up between the engine and headers.

I've actually found what looks like chunks of well done meat sitting on the engine or within the engine compartment. I don't know if a mouse built a nest in the fan area and then when I started the car I chopped hm up and he flew around the engine or what, but it didn't really smell.

Um.................. Na, forget it... too easy...

Every once in a while I get a strong wiff of something burning under my car (save the puns.) I've tracked it down to between the exhaust and the side sills but cannot figure out what it is - not oil, not rubber.

I know exactly what you are taliking about. I too have smelled a wood burning or sooty smell from my car. It happens sometimes and other times I don't notice it. I can't figure out what it is unless it has to do with something on the HAVAC side of things.

Spent and hour with it on the lift with the mechanic today, went over every thing we could see without taking the car apart. It looked like there may have been something on the one pipe before it goes past the half shaft, but nothing there now. Didn't notice the smell on the way home.....time to go for a ride :2tu:
