STU: I think Pioneer is giving you a canned , not so accurate answer. I doubt their deck is that well sheilded against the onslaught of RFI thrown by wires that are not RFI shielded.

On 1 of my cars, I ran a MSD 7AL box, and even with RFI Shielded wires, it would interfer with my TV while idleing in the driveway. Now that is throwing some energy. That 7 box is like a small welder !

But back to the point of if the wires are putting out radio frequencies, your or any receiver is subseptable to picking up those stray waves. A line filter may help, but is actually designed to filter out in-line alternator noise or feedback, and can't protect against your 10 rouge radio stations under the hood...

I have been thinking of purchasing these wires: Magnacores red, 8.5mm, Hi-Temp.
Doe's anyone have any pictures installed with snake sox boot protectors?

The 10.5mm wires just have thicker insulation. They look better in my opinion, but are much more expensive than the thinner wires and they do not fit in the stock looms well.

I hogged my stock ones out and got them to fit barely, but I ended up just getting some aftermarket looms. The ones in the pic are Made-For-You horizontal looms made for 10.5mm wires which I screwed into the original loom mounting holes once I removed the studs the looms mount onto. They work pretty well.
