It would be fun to see some speedometer video of your fast Vipers while accerelating on a flat surface. Here's one from my Ruf Turbo R. My wife's stock Viper is a bit slower.

Turbo R Speedometer

60-100: 3.7 sec
60-120: 6.6 sec
60-140: 10.6 sec

Ben Treynor's 1000 horse beast had a video a few weeks back of a 60-110 run all in third gear of 3 seconds. Variance could be a few tenths either way as it was just a having fun improntu timing from the look of it.

Wonder what a stock Viper would do the same in comparison?

The most awesome ride I have ever taken around a road course was in a RUF Porsche Turbo at Road America. The car was on slicks. I remember the car feeling as like it had similar acceleration and road holding traction/grip coefficient to my 1996 GTS with headers, no cats and side exhaust, full rollcage and lowered 2". But what absolutely knocked my socks off was the brakes! They were UNBELIEVABLE! We would go into a turn at 170+, that SOB just mashed the brakes and we slowed the according amount to make the turns. I was less impressed with the ability of the driver as I found out near the end of the lap that the car had ABS. I suspected it by the end as I never felt him lock them up even the slightest bit! I saw the video, is there any sound? Also, the video is too short and the speedometer readings are unreadable because of the glare.

Sorry for the poor quality. I used a miniature Supercircuits camera with no sound. The needle swings past 60 in the beginning. Numbers are then 80, 100 (straight up), 120, 140. I start in 3rd and shifted into 4th a bit past 100 then 5th a bit past 120. The run was down the front straight of Willow Springs where I can hit 150 into turn 1 when exiting turn 9 at around 80 MPH. A stock Viper will enter turn 1 at around 130 MPH under the same conditions.

I'd love to see the supercharged Viper's speedo from 60-120 (including the shift).
