Hey guys, having my Eibachs installed next week. Should I have the alignment done at the same time, or do the springs need to settle prior to an alignment?

Can be done at the same time. or a day later. but definitely do it pretty soon. else your tires will look like mine: uneven wear.

I would wait a few days. It takes spring about 100 miles to settle fully settle after install. Best time to align is after this.

You can live without an alignment for a while However get those shocks adjusted during the install. GTS Bruce

The shock and suspension bushing torque procedure is EXTREMELY important. If you lower the car, it will bind the pivot bushings and play hell with the car's stability.

That's what I thought. I called a few places up today. I'm looking at about $500 for the install, that includes an alignment. I will wait until the springs settle before getting the car aligned.

Bat - what spec are you using for the alignment? Factory?

GTS Dean - Can you please tell us more of this torque procedure? I am doing this at home and don't want to screw up. Thanks!

From the manual "Vehicle curb height on the Viper can be affected if all rubber bushings used in the vehicle suspension are not tightened and torqued with the vehicle at DESIGN height. This is due to the extreme stiffness of the rubber used in the suspension component bushings"

In other words, make sure that you have the ride height set/settled before you torque down the bushings or they will bind. Design height in your case is obviously lower than stock now.

As carguyO7 and GTSDean stated, this is one area that looks real easy. That is to screw up big time. Do not atempt to do this without the factory service manual. Unless you have all the equipment and experience you may learn what "getting bit" really means. Good Luck

There's a place near my house called Group 5 Motorsports and AJ USA. I'm thinking of taking it there. Then there is Westcoast Viper in Temecula. A longer drive, but probably well worth getting it done there.

What do you guys do, lower the jack/car on wooden blocks with no wheels. If so, where do you place them, under the rotors?

I guess you could also use a jack to slightly raise the rotor to approximate ride height? So may be you could take measurements before you remove the shocks to see the approx ride height.

Design height means BALLASTED height. That's with about 400lbs of weight in the seats and rear. You can use the donut spare to give room for wrench operation at each corner, or you can put jackstands under the lower ball joints with the wheels off. The shock bolts need to be torqued in this manner as well.

I bought some iforged wheels the Sprints actually [******] 7R's got a good deal on ebay. Let me know how the drop and alignment turns out. I thought your suppose to perform an alignment after 4 weeks because the springs has to settle.

Well, at least 100 miles on the springs prior to getting an alignment, but the guys strongly suggested I get it done right away. We'll see...
