I was on my way home and this Acura Integra with hid headlights messed with me. I have never raced as I fear of breaking loose and losing it. The road was empty and the light changed and he whizzed by me.
Maybe it was because I just couldn't stand the lack of respect that I decided to play catch up and before I realized it I was ahead and as I shifted into 4th I felt it break loose just enough to go 5 degrees sideways. I wasn't powershifting but was a little heavy on the gas.
Not an event I am proud of but what the heck. I have to winterize soon. I do not desire to race again because of the previously mentioned reason as well as losing my license but I admit it was a rush to squash a bug.

Sweet right???

I made it all the way home, however, 11 days later at 3AM it was in 1000 pieces on the streets of L.A.
But thanks to the genius of Dan Cragin of DC performance and Ole of Scandinavian coach craft, one year later, we are back in action and slithering around so. Cal once again. I'm also glad to say that it hasn't lost a step! :2tu:
The story of what happened will have to be for another day due to insurance racing regs. I will let you know one thing, I made the ultimate sacrifice...(the car of course) although I might have been going sideways, I did cross the line first. :usa:
Thank god no one was hurt.
(Now-then...here Ferrari, Ferrari...)

You're in 5th, downshift into 4th and break the tires loose ?? huh ? Do you mean 2nd ?
I was upshifting from a stoplight. I was easy on the gas in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and figured 4th would have enough gearing to hit the gas a little harder. I was not popping the clutch.

Vipera, I hope you are OK after your accident as it sounds like it was a major one.

I am addicted and need to find safe outlets other than the street. I just found out that a couple places locally host SCCA autocrossing and Watkins Glen is only a couple hours away.

I am planning on getting a second higher mileage GTS to mod and thrash on the strip and track and keep my lower mileage RT/10 a beach cruiser. I want to get Kumhos on my RT/10 but don't want the rock chips. It is obvious I am not ready for a twin turbo yet but that is my ultimate goal for the future GTS. By the time I save the money for the second I should have more experience.

Next year I will get a 4th week vacation and I hope to go to my first VCA event. :2tu: It will be hard with my family but I look foward to meeting some fellow Viper owners that can relate to me as everyone here thinks I am nuts.
