EBC greens at Greatbreaks.com will cure the squealing and the dust.

Race cars have racing breaks. End result .... all Vipers squeak (until you install the EBC pads referenced above). Call Jon B. at PartsRack. :usa:

Ensure you prep the rotors before installing the Greens or you might still squeak. Prep right = no squeak/dust.

Can someone elaborate on this prep of the rotors? I installed EBC's with new slotted 2pc rotors, and they squeak like hell under light braking, just before stopping. I broke them in per the directions...

My greens squeaked after installation on stock rotors. I did a little prep to knock the corrosion off the rotors with that install. Then I got serious and got the 3M Roloc pads and really prepped the rotors. After the Roloc, the rotors were really cleaned up, and the squeaks were gone.

But, if you have new rotors, Roloc won't help. The only other thing I do is to use Disc Brake Quiet. There are a number of these products out there, spray and glue-like. They dampen the vibrations that cause the squeaks. Sometimes they do the trick.

Good luck.

Don't get the new compound EBC Greens if you are looking for low dust. Not like the old ones. I hear Reds are the trick now.

Purdue: Can you elaborate on your Roluc technique? Which grade/grit/size disc did you use? Any tricks I should be aware of if I decide to go the Roluc route on my rotors? Thanks - Tony

I've got a write up somewhere on Roloc. I'll find it and post it.

Here is the 3M name for the product: 3M™ Roloc™ Brake Rotor Surface Conditioning Disc Starter Pack, 01410, 12 per case.
