Its really evident they heavily borrowed styling cues and lines from the GTS. The Gen3 coupe has much more Gen2 influence than the SRT10 vert does. Look at the dangerously **** swooping rear fender bulges, curvaceous roof line, and duck bill spoiler. The SRT coupe is like an "edgy" GTS. And the new coupe is, by far, more sensuous than the SRT10 vert. This sexiness is due to a shot in the arm of DNA from the GTS.
I think all the criticism the SRT 10 vert received from Gen1+2 owners really hit home, (no need to recap, we all remember), so when they designed the new coupe, they dug deep into the emotional well of the GTS.
Otherwise, why would it have so much GTS influence? Its obvious they were trying to recapture the emotional whallop and appeal of the GTS.
As far as the GTS being "dated", thats entirely true. In fact, it was "dated" when it first came out in 1996, since it borrows so much from the Ferrari 250 GTO, and Daytona Coupe, designs that predate the GTS by about 30 years.
Whats old is new again. And I think they all rock. Good job, SRT!
