I know this has been discussed before but could not find anything under search. I tried to unlock my driver side door using the mechanical key lock under the drivers side mirror. Seemed to need to much pressure and was afraid to break the key so I stopped. Call Dealer and he said they are all very hard to turn but it will turn and unlock. They also said they have not yet broken anything doing it. Comments please before I proceed. thanks!

Also important: have someone put pressure on the rear of the door. This relieves some on the pressure on the latch, making the key easier to turn.

Putting a little pressure on the rear of the door as was suggested made all the differance in the world. The door popped open with not a lot of pressure on the key. Thanks again!

Had the same concern about breaking the key off. After the dealer service rep did it for me I felt like an idiot. Don't worry it will open with a little force.
