SRT Coupe Questions.........

Hello all,

I have been registered here for quite some time, but don't get around to doing much posting. I had a few questions for all of you in the 'know'.

I am currently in the market for a new model snake, but before taking the plunge, I wanted to put to rest some doubts.

First of all, I love both RT and GTS bodies in all years, but I think that a new model Coupe would be an absolute homerun. But will they ever make it?

I have heard both and yes and no from above, with official press releases (to probably push sales of the SRT-10 up for a few more years) that they won't be built. But would PVO really shoot themselves in the foot, and drop a popular body style? I don't think it will happen.

So, if it will be made, I will wait for it. If not, I will probably spring for an SRT-10, seing that even though the C6 Vette looks to be in the low 500hp range, I do not like what I see of it so far. The spy photos are dogsh!t, just my opinion tho. My current Z needs a stable mate soon, and even though the new Vette may have the power, it sure as hell doesn't appear to have the looks, so I am searchin and searchin!

Thats the only place to be for a Z06 owner, corvetteforum does not compare, IMO.

As far as the coupe is concerned, I do not expect the production coupe until 2006 or 2007. I would like to see it sooner, but several of my friends who have a active relationship with PVO say it is three years away.

Tj you should get the SRT convertable you already have a coupe. next time I am at taco cabana I`ll let try it out, but I will be out of town for a couple of weeks. And yes it is probably 2 years till the coupe? The gen 2 cars are pretty reasonable and easy to get 500hp out of and if you really want power twin turbo a Gen2 for less than a SRT, just depends on what you want lots of power or good cruiser. Looks like if you want a 500hp coupe, the next Corvette Z06 is going to be your only choice.

PVO dropped the ball if you ask me.

Ya'll don't sweat it. They've already developed the coupe and it's only a matter of time. I don't think they would spend the time and money developing the comp. coupe for the sole purpose of racing. That market is very narrow. As soon as the new C6 and Ford GT coupes come out the Viper coupe won't be far behind. With all the info they get from racing the coupe they should be able to improve on the chassis and power plant. When it all comes together we'll have a very impressive vehicle.

I have been meaning for you to let me sit in that puppy. I love the Gen 3's but I worry about the roof line, and my height..... As soon as they make a seat lowering kit for the Gen 3's it is gonna be REALLY HARD not to get into one of those as well!! Hope to see you soon, you with your 3, count em, 3 BEAUTIFL VIPERS!!! Loved the Kinesis wheels on the Coupe by the way! Very nice touch! When the Gen 3's came out, I told myself that I would NEVER like them as much as the Gen I/II's but everytime I see that silver paint on your SRT, that loses its validity a little bit more!

someone may have already made this point, but they are probably waiting for the Z06 and the GT to come out before making any press releases, therefore having an edge in this bitter rivalry. Dont worry, the coupe is the behind the curtains.
