Looking for an opinion from anyone who has the Mopar cover for the SRT. I have heard that it is a very thin material and may not offer the protection that we have when using the Gen I/II covers. I have held off ordering one due to the concern. The Gen I/II cover fits okay. Some extra slack in some areas, especially with the roof down.

Basic question is does the Mopar cover do the trick or should I look for an aftermarket cover, or live with the Gen I/II cover?

I ordered a DUSTOP cover from Car Cover World. This is the best fabric for convertibles because it does not leave lint on the roof. It was $157.20 plus 12.50 shipping. They do have it available for the SRT/10.

Charlie (888-270-0411)of Car Cover World will discount Viper Club member orders by 5%. To get this discount you have to call Charlie because their web ordering system will not allow discounts.

They have several material options depending on the application.

They expect to have Comp Coupe covers in a few weeks.

Car will be delivered tonight or tomorow. Cover shipped today. Material "NOAH" will provide opinions when the two come together. I discussed several materials(with Charlie) and picked the one that seemed right for my needs. I suggest you call Charlie and tell him how the cover wil be used, he will help you make the correct choice.

My car is sitting on my lift waiting for the cover and the weather to break. I still only have 9 miles on the car and have had it for 2 months now :( .

Once it comes I will post how it fits and the quality of the cover. I bought the DUSTOP mainly because it will not leave lint on the roof.

Please be advised that OE and aftermarket car covers typically stretch from good, better, best in terms of fabric performance. Mopar's car cover product line offers the "better" category in Evolution (The 4 layer material) for the general DaimlerChrysler lineup and the "best" category in Weathershield for premier vehicles such as the Viper and upcoming Crossfire. Similarly other OE customers use Weathershield to distinguish their "best" performing car covers.

Performance categories for Weathershield rank the cover as a consistently top performing fabric in performance categories such as indoor use, outdoor use, all-weather protection, rain, snow, dirt/dust, soft touch, storage space required, mildew protection, rot resistance, and is home washable and can be dried at home as well. The Evolution Fabric is also a very strong fabric but is rated in the better category for items such as those listed above and requires commercial cleaning and air drying.

Performance Ratings for Weathershield vs. (Evolution):
All Weather Protection: Best (Better)
Indoor Use: Best (Better)
Outdoor Use: Best (Better)
Rain Resistance: Best (Better)
Snow Resistance: Best (Better)
Acid Rain Resistance: Yes (Yes)
Dirt/Dust Resistance: Best (Better)
UV Damage: Better (Good)
Bird Dropping Resistance: Best (Best)
Tree Sap Resistance: Best (Best)
Breathability: Good (Good)
Soft Touch: Best (Better)
Storage Space Required: Small (Large)
Mildew/ Rot Resistant: Yes (Yes)
Cleaning - Wash: HOME (Commercial)
Cleaning - Dry: HOME (Air)

How do I know this? I am the Marketing Manager for Viper Accessories at Mopar and we chose this product because of it's "protection from the elements" ability.

Don't believe the SRT cover is 4 layer. It appears to be one thin layer, not like the previous GTS cover, which was Evolution, I believe.

I didn't understand the post to say that Evolution is used for the Viper cover. I thought he said that Weathershield was the Viper cover.
Am I wrong?

I agree that he indicated weathershield was the SRT cover. My question is related to interior use. My biggest concern is scratch resistance and damage resistance. I do not plan on using outdoors except on a very limited basis. For my RT/10 I have 2 covers. One for inside (factory Evolution cover) and another lighter, more weatherproof cover, for outside use.

The scratch resistance is the ability of the cover to prevent causing scratches when installing it over the car. As it is used only over a clean car in a garage I am not concerned with keeping the cover clean or dirt free. In 7 years the RT/10 cover has not needed cleaning beyond an occasional brushing.

The second is damage resistance. Damage being caused by passing people (children) who unintentionally contact the car. The Evolution material provides quite a bit of damage resistance due to its thickness.

I have yet to see the new material to see if it appears to offer a relatively soft inside to prevent scratching and how thick it is to prevent extraneous damage.

Anyone who has seen or used the new cover your comments would be appreciated.
