Since it's free with the purchase of a new SRT, I've signed up for my "Experience". I'm looking forward to this since a few folks have mentioned that it's a great deal of fun.

But without any prior knowledge of what to expect, I just receive this email:

Thank you for registering for an upcoming SRT Track Experience event. As a point of clarification, all SRT vehicles, with the exception of the Viper, will be included in the driving modules at each track event. During the final session of the event day (Hot Laps), the professional drivers will be giving rides in select SRT vehicles and depending on availability, you may receive a Viper ride during this time.

If you have any questions regarding the Track Experience, please call us.

See you at the track!

Is this the way it's always been? Seems a bit odd.

I was wondering about that too. I had thought about bring my 08, but they aren't allowed on the track with the company cars. So it looks likewill be driving to truckster instead. :(

Last year all participants DROVE Vipers in the short 45 second Autocross-Threshold brake modules. We RODE in Vipers full-course if time permited, at end of day.

I am interested in your attendee feedback, since we again for 2009 sponsor the module prizes....I was in high-hopes that some Viper Owners would be there, getting stick time....

I got the same message today. So does this mean that no Vipers will be guaranted to show up? I am not sure I am going to waste my time on this, motel room, etc. I was looking forward to getting on the track with a Viper.

When I went in the summer of 07', I did get seat time in the Viper in addition to all of the other SRT vehicles. There was only one module that this was offered which was the "Drift" module. I was thinking about signing up again this summer even though I would have to pay this time but now I may reconsider. It was a very good event with breakfast and lunch buffet and snacks and beverages at every module. All included with the price.
I got some time to think about it now. :eater:

OK, I got the answer:

Vipers are at every event, but are no longer used in any of the customer-drive modules as in prior years. So CUSTOMERS wont be driving any Vipers in 2009 SRT Drive Experience*. INSTRUCTORS will be driving Vipers, giving rides.....at the end of day (as always.)

THAT SAID: For a Viper Owner, driving a Viper in a 30sec autocross was NOT the biggest hoot of SRT-Drive Experience! The drift-ride in the SRT-8 Cherokee was a pants-peeing hoot; The hot-laps driving other SRT stuff was a close second; The 1/6 mile head-to-head drags were fun, and the Team Autocross was bloodthirsty at our event. You WILL have fun if you go to one of these.......

80% of attendees DONT own a Viper, so you will have some cache' and bragging rights as SRT-owners compare. Wear a Viper shirt! MoPar apparel encouraged, and is alo for sale there.

DONT PASS THIS UP, trust me......

*PS: If and when the Viper platform might change owners, this could change.
