Is the new SRT10 supposed to come with a better radio and upgraded speakers than the previous GTS? I have heard that some of the early cars were given the old radio and speakers?

I checked out Mikes a few nights ago. It was snowing so I didn't get a chance to hear the stereo with the top down at 60mph but I can tell you this. It was definitely better than the one in my 98 GTS. I believe it has full rangers in the doors, a sub between the seats, a mid between the seats and a tweeter behind each seat. It sounded mucho better.

I hope that helped.

A few things on the radio that set it apart:<UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>310 watts vs. 200 watts for the previous Vipers (and you can hear it)
<LI>Six CD in-dash player vs. the single CD of previous systems
<LI>Station "labeling" for those that broadcast it
<LI>"PTY" search feature that scans stations by content (rock, classical, etc.)
<LI>What appears to be a "real" subwoofer in the center, complete with air return
<LI>A REAL volume knob and larger controls for less fumbling at speed
[/list]The window sticker says five speakers and that is the number of round grills you can find. However, I am still trying to figure out what the two mesh grills are on the corners of the dash. Did they move the ones from the hood inside?

I wondered about that as well. Disappointing for sure, but the system still sounds decent. Just wish they would have followed through on that 500 watt promise...
