SSR Wheels- Defective?

I have a set of SSR type C-RS wheels for the track. The weld on one has cracked. Anyone else have problems with SSR wheels?

SSR's are made from a specially made aluminum and I think Silicone hybreed material, it will be a ***** to weld to fix

a defect in the wheel is highly unlikely as it would have shown up sooner
maybe metal fatigue
I would carefully inspect all of the wheels and possibly have them x-rayed

Can you please post a few pics? I would like a better glance at the anomaly and see if my set of SSRs is showing a similar failure that could/will lead to failure.

Well Jon B might still have those 2 sets remaining at a good price at that. Even if you contact SSR I don't think there is anything they will do since the wheel has been out of production for some time now.

The stickier the tire you run, the stronger wheel you will need.

Have run multiple sets of SSR wheels on 3 Vipers without issue. Lately an 09 ACR on high speed ovals with slicks pulling over 1.5 Gs.

Did you go four wheeling or hit something?

Never seen of heard of an SSR failure.

Now, if you mention Forgelines, yes, have bent one and seen many of them bent. On the plus side, they are relatively easy to repair.
