I would generally defer to the experts on this one, but the same thing just happened to me and it took a looooong time for it to go away, like 20-30 cycles. Don't even bother with the local replacement market, I wasted two days and $30 on 3 caps that were "supposed to be exact match." Call Nancy at Woodhouse, link on this page, they stock it, she airships it, you got it next day. Come to think of it Jon probably has it as well as Chuck also. Lots of the aftermarket ones don't seal well enough to eliminate the vapor emission problem that generates the code. Trying the local caps may have compounded my problem. I agree with Jon, don't disconnect the battery, this will go away with the right cap. I've had a battery disconnect, due to a dead (bad) battery and you gotta' "train" your motor again after the disconnect.
