I will try to make a long story short.
I live just outside Buffalo NY we recently had 6 feet snowfall over a few days.
Yesterday I went to start my car and I noticed the aluminum roof was bulging down toward the rafters. And seeing that roofs are coming down all over town I asked the storage place (Storage Pros) to come shovel off the roof.
They called me back and said "They don't want to be responsible for a cave in on a $100K car and please move it tomorrow to their main building (heated, carpeted and much nicer)"

so I said sure!!! but now I have to drive the Viper over snowpacked road about 100+ yards to the new building.

Will the viper with tires prepped for storage (45psi) just spin?
I hope tomorrow is not a big problem driving it over to its better home. (which I wanted originally but was told cars can't be put in. I guess liability changes mines.)

so in closing check on your cars often!!!
best wishes

I would drop the tire pressure to 25 and use a portable plug in inflator to pump them back up.I have driven a similar type car in the winter some years ago.Don't use 1st gear.Try 3rd with a lot of clutch slip if the surface is too slick. Also consider using the handbrake to help reduce wheel spin. I don't think the lsd works at low speed, low loads. Next year you'll be happier with it in your garage.Leave your daily driver outside with a remote start.Keep the Vipe inside with a car cover.Backed in and parked right next to one wall.Surround it with some air mattress. You get to look at it every day and do some tinkering too.I'm home Thursday,Just going to the Gym at 9 for about 1.5 hrs.Call me if you want some help/moral support. 662-0464 Bruce

I would get some long boards and have a helper put them in front of you for traction. Maybe this would work?

Next year do what one of our local members did: He found a very serious Viper enthusiast who was delighted to keep it in his climate-controlled garage. The enthusiast filled it with gas, parked it on carpeted mats, and put a battery tender on it. He then goes out and dusts it off every week or so (California Duster) and even uses the Zaino spray every so often to keep it "fresh" (the owner doesn't have a car cover). He also starts it once in a while and babies it around the block to keep lubricate the moving parts and prevent any oxidation - weather and roads permitting, of course.

Oh yeah, and that Viper enthusiast is me! Sure is nice to have two Vipers in the garage, one yellow RT/10 and my ugly ol' GTS...

PS. And the guy hasn't even called to check on his baby in three months...

First fact, move when it is very cold that way the snow
is hard and big feet will not sink in,lower tire pressure
20 to 25 PSI,when you start keep your momentum
going, know where you will land.Last year I had to change where my
94RT was stored and this worked for me I also used first gear to avoid using the throttle to much as I had to go up a hill.

Maybe if you put some downward facing tips on your dual exausts, and back your car towards its new home, that great big V-10 might melt all the snow in it's path.

Sorry if this does not work, but since moving from Detroit to San Diego 20 years ago I have not had much recent experience with ice and snow.

Oh yeah, as an alternative get a bunch of neighbor hood kids to shovel a path for you. Tell them that if they help out they will each get a Viper ride in the Spring.

I would suggest going to your local hardware store and buy some sawdust/kitty litter/road salt (last resort) and spread it out to make a path where your tires will be going. If you have to use salt it wouldn't be too much of a concern of getting on your car as I doubt you'll be going fast. Also when moving, slowly let the clutch out in 1st gear and let the car idle itself along.

I still can't be;eive you guys got taht much snow and we hardly saw any, some 30 miles across the lake.

Happy shovelling.

thanks for all the replys.
i will give it a try today and last resort i will do what Alan
suggest and get a flatbed. but hopefully it will not be too bad.
It is very cold out not above 30 during the day so the snowpack should be hard as rock i hope.

everyone wish me luck

i will keep ya posted.

Okay, I moved it.
I found brucegts's advice priceless.

Today I learned alot about Viper driving in the snow.
First, second and third are useless. Only fourth kept the car from
going sideways.
Also it was FUN!!!

I made the 100+ yards no problem.
The new home is like a luxury suite compared to a outhouse.
It has a carpeted floor and heat!! It is nice. Where it should have been in the first place. Today I was told if next season I need storage it can go to the heated storage.
Thanks for all the advice guys!
