I just remembered that 7 years or so ago, I ran a shorter serpentine belt eliminating the power steering pump in the mix in an effort to free up some HP at the strip with my '94RT/10. And... it steered just fine! You'd think that with those huge tires on it, you'd need arms like the Hulk move the steering wheel. Not so, barely noticed the ps wasn't there. Hmm now that's got me thinking..did that same belt also eliminate the AC compressor? It's just been too long to remember, but food for thought for those of you wanting a .10sec of a second here or there at the strip.

A lot of F-body guys do that at the track. It's a quick, easy, effective way to lose some parasitic drag! Do you remember what size the belt was? I'd be intersted to know.

I lost my PS during a race. Driving home was not fun. You had to use your both hands all the time. Forget the slow speed driving.

No I don't remember the belt size, sorry it's been too long. Seems like I remember it had one less groove on it, and part of the belt's part number was its' length, so if you can use your OEM belt, wrap it around the new way you want it to go, omitting ps or AC or both and get a good idea of the new shorter length, the parts guy should be able to go with that number. Most shops will let you bring it back if it's unused and try another one.
Maybe my memory has dimmed on the effort needed w/o ps, but I just don't remember it being a monster in the pits..
