Strange front-end noise '05, 18k mls, "vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"...

Best I can describe it, you can hear it clearly when reving the engine. Must be a spinning mechanism. a belt, clutch?

Sounds just like that --- vrrrrrrr, vrrrrr, pretty loud.

Will call for appt tomorrow but would love to hear any ideas.

Curious to see what you find, mine does exactly same thing... I was told by a fellow Viper owner to check power steering fluid.

Ken, did you by chance get an oil change recently? I've been trouble shooting the same issue on my side and originally thought it could be due to a low amount of power steering fluid, but have since filled and still have the same issue. Because I recently had an oil change, I'm really leaning towards the wrong oil filter being installed and causing this noise. Let me know how it's going on your side.
